LEGAL NOTICE AND DISCLAIMERS

This Legal Notice sets out what Nutrition Verified is, what verification means, and what it does not. Read it alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. About Nutrition Verified
Nutrition Verified is an independent food information verification platform based in Queensland, Australia. We review claims that food producers make about their products and publish what has been verified under our NV 1.0 standard.
2. What Verification Means
"Verified by Nutrition Verified" means we have reviewed the information a producer has declared about their product, against published reference standards and supporting evidence they provided, and confirmed that it is:
- Accurate: consistent with the supporting evidence presented.
- Consistent: aligned with what is on the producer's packaging, marketing, and website.
- Not misleading: phrased in a way an ordinary consumer would reasonably understand.
Verification is current as at the date of review and is reviewed periodically.
3. What Verification Does Not Mean
Nutrition Verified does not:
- Certify products. We are not a certification body. Verification is an information review, not certification.
- Assess food safety. Food safety in Australia is regulated by FSANZ, state food safety agencies (e.g. Safe Food Queensland), and local councils.
- Make health claims. Nothing on our site is dietary, nutritional, or medical advice.
- Inspect or audit farms, processors, or kitchens unless explicitly stated.
- Test products in a laboratory unless explicitly stated.
- Endorse, recommend, or guarantee any product.
- Constitute regulatory approval of any kind.
Verification is based on what the producer declares and supporting evidence they provide. We rely on producers acting in good faith. If we discover information is inaccurate, we will revoke verification and update the relevant page.
4. Nutritional Information Disclaimer
Nutritional values published on Nutrition Verified are typical averages, not absolute or guaranteed values for any individual pack. They are sourced from:
- FSANZ AFCD: the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Australian Food Composition Database, where applicable.
- Producer-supplied NIPs: nutritional information panels and kitchen calculations supplied by the producer.
Actual nutritional content of any individual product will vary based on growing conditions, processing, batch, and other factors. Nothing on Nutrition Verified is dietary or medical advice. Consult a qualified health practitioner for any decision relating to your health, diet, allergies, or medical condition.
5. Producer Claims and Third-Party Information
Information about each verified producer (origin, raising practices, ingredients, supply chain, certifications) is supplied by that producer and verified for accuracy and consistency. We do not independently re-test or audit beyond what the NV 1.0 standard requires. Where a producer holds third-party certification (for example, Australian Certified Organic), the certifying body is named and remains responsible for that certification.

Our site contains links to third-party websites including producer pages, social media platforms, Google Maps, FSANZ, and partner stores. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site. Linking does not constitute endorsement.
7. Intellectual Property
"Nutrition Verified" is a registered trade mark in Australia, registered in Class 35 covering consumer product information services relating to food and drink, online retail of foodstuffs, advertising and marketing, and business management and administration. The NV mark, the NV 1.0 standard, the "Verified by Nutrition Verified" claim, our written content, design system, and verified product pages are owned by us or used under licence. Unauthorised use, reproduction, or imitation may breach the Trade Marks Act 1995 (Cth) (in respect of the registered "Nutrition Verified" wordmark), the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), the Australian Consumer Law (misleading or deceptive conduct), or the common law tort of passing off.
8. Reviews and User Content
Reviews submitted by users are the opinions of those users and do not represent the views of Nutrition Verified. We may moderate, edit, or remove reviews that are defamatory, false, or breach our Terms of Service.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nutrition Verified and our affiliates are not liable for any loss, damage, illness, allergic reaction, or other consequence arising from:
- Reliance on information published on our site.
- Consumption of any product from a verified or unverified producer.
- Errors in producer-supplied information that we have published in good faith after verification.
- Third-party content linked from our site.
This clause does not exclude or limit any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Reporting Issues
If you believe information published on Nutrition Verified is inaccurate, misleading, or out of date, please email isaac@nutritionverified.com. We will investigate and, where appropriate, correct or revoke the relevant verification within 30 days.
11. Governing Law
This Legal Notice is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
