Producers Provide

Producers submit product information required under applicable food standards, along with additional factual information they choose to disclose. All information must be complete, factual and not misleading.

Nutrition Verified Reviews

We review submitted information against the Verification Rules and Standards (NV 1.0) confirming it is accurate, consistent, and that no material is omitted or misrepresented.

Consumers Access

Each verified product page is linked to a QR code or NFC tag. Consumers scan and see verified ingredients, nutrition information, and additional context all in one place.

What We Verify

Verification covers the information producers are required to provide, plus any additional factual information they choose to disclose.

Ingredient List
All ingredients clearly and completely disclosed, with no intentionally vague terms. Reviewed against what is declared on pack.
Nutrition Information Panel
In accordance with Australian food standards, as declared on the product. Verified for accuracy and consistency.
Product Name and Description
Clear, factual and not exaggerated or misleading. Verified against what is actually in the product.
Origin Information
Including country, region, or farm source where relevant to verify accuracy or claims made on or about the product.
Processing Information
Where relevant to verify declared product information. How the product was handled, treated or produced.
Packaging and Handling
Where relevant to verify declared product information. Storage, handling and packaging claims reviewed for accuracy.
The Standards

VERIFICATION RULES

Nutrition Verified operates under published standards, NV 1.0. These rules apply to every product, every time.

Rule 01
Information Must Be Complete
All required information must be submitted in full. Nothing can be omitted, obscured or intentionally vague.
Rule 02
Claims Must Align With What Is Disclosed
Any claims made about the product on packaging, marketing or product pages must be consistent with the information provided for verification.
Rule 03
No Misleading Statements
Nutrition Verified does not verify absolute or unprovable statements including "Chemical-free", "Toxin-free", "100% clean" or "Nothing added ever".
Rule 04
Verification Is Per Product
Verification applies to individual products, not brands or businesses. Each product is assessed on its own information and merits.
Rule 05
Producers Must Notify Changes
If ingredients, descriptions or declared product information changes, producers must notify Nutrition Verified. Failure to do so may result in suspension or removal of verification.
Rule 06
Verification Can Be Withdrawn
Verification reflects information at a point in time. If information becomes misleading or inaccurate, the verified mark may be withdrawn at any time.

We aim to complete verification within 5 to 10 business days of receiving all required information. Complex products or incomplete submissions may take longer. You will be notified at each stage of the process.
No. Nutrition Verified is an information verification system, not a testing laboratory. We verify that the information provided by the producer is accurate, consistent and not misleading based on what is declared and submitted. We do not certify products, assess food safety or provide dietary advice.
No. Verification applies to individual products only, not brands or businesses. This is intentional. It ensures that every verified product has been assessed on its own information, rather than riding on a brand's general reputation.
You must notify Nutrition Verified of any changes to ingredients, product descriptions or declared product information. We will review the updated information and either re-verify or suspend verification until the review is complete. Failure to notify may result in removal of verification.
No. Nutrition Verified is an independent information verification system. Verification does not constitute regulatory approval or endorsement of any product. It does not replace obligations under Australian food standards or the role of FSANZ, the ACCC or other regulatory bodies.
Once a product is verified, it receives a unique QR code or NFC tag that links directly to its verified product page. No app is required. Consumers simply scan or tap with any smartphone to see the verified information instantly.
